Underground drilling rigs

Match an underground drilling rig to the production hole plan before comparing machine size. The ZDTC64, ZDTC89 and ZDTC89-2 cover documented long-hole drilling applications. Hole direction, depth, rod handling and the available working profile are the starting points for reviewing this range.

Compare production long-hole drilling rig arrangements

The ZDTC64 is documented for small to medium drifts and drilling in upward, downward and sidewall directions. The ZDTC89 and ZDTC89-2 include automatic rod handling in their source descriptions. Check the selected model page for its own drilling and positioning data.

For ring drilling, supply the hole orientations and the required collar positions, preferably on the drilling plan. Include the available space around the rig for setup and rod-related tasks. Describe any reach limitation encountered with your current equipment so the proposed arrangement addresses a specific problem.

Review hole requirements and site interfaces together

Request confirmation of hole diameter and depth for the configuration being quoted. The ZDTC89 documents give conflicting hole ranges, drilling depths and rod totals. The ZDTC89-2 also needs clarification of its hole range; specifications should not be transferred between the two models.

Provide power and water supplies, travel-route dimensions and the planned operator position. Compare the documented remote-control arrangement with your work area and request the scope of supplied equipment. For short development-face holes, compare the face drilling jumbo category instead.

your application.

Send the drilling plan.

Include hole diameter and depth, orientation, spacing and the available working profile. For a replacement rig, tell us what the present machine cannot reach or handle. This gives the technical team a concrete starting point.

What is available at the face?

List the power and water supplies and describe the access route. Add dimensions for tight turns or height restrictions. The machine needs to reach the drilling position as well as fit within it.

Check the rod-handling arrangement.

If rod handling or remote operation is part of your requirement, state it explicitly. Review the selected model's documented equipment and ask which items are included in the quotation before placing an order.

Selection questions

Which model should I choose for long-hole drilling?

Begin with the hole diameter, depth, orientation and drift profile. Use those requirements to compare the ZDTC64, ZDTC89 and ZDTC89-2 rather than choosing from the model number.

Is automatic rod handling common to every model?

It is described for the ZDTC89 and ZDTC89-2. Review the selected model specification and confirm the supplied rod-handling arrangement in the quotation.

Can one model’s depth apply to the whole range?

No. Depth and rod arrangements are model-specific. Resolve documented conflicts in writing before using a value in a purchase specification.
