Mining Ventilation Fans
K / DK / FBD / FBCD / FBCDZ / KCS / JK / DJK: The mining ventilation range includes K and DK fans for non-coal mines, FBD forced-ventilation fans, FBCD extraction fans, FBCDZ main fans, wet dust-removal fans and JK/DJK local ventilation fans. Selection depends on airflow, system resistance and the required installation environment.

Built around your working task.
Review the model and technical reference together with your application requirements. Provide airflow, pressure, conveyed medium, temperature and duct arrangement. Identify any special material, motor or certification requirement.

Check the operating conditions.
Provide airflow, pressure, conveyed medium, temperature and duct arrangement. Identify any special material, motor or certification requirement.
Check the current technical sheet against the configuration in the quotation. Dimensions, interfaces and operating requirements should be confirmed before planning the installation.
Choose the fan family by ventilation duty
The mining ventilation fan range includes several duties. K and DK references concern non-coal mine ventilation, FBD covers forced ventilation, FBCD covers extraction and FBCDZ covers main ventilation. KCS is a wet dust-removal range, while JK and DJK cover local ventilation references.
These labels help narrow the inquiry, but they do not make the fan series interchangeable. State whether the task is main ventilation, a local air supply, extraction or dust removal. Include the operating environment so the relevant configuration can be reviewed.
Fan arrangement and the required operating point
The K-series source describes direct motor-to-impeller drive and an adjustable blade installation angle. K and DK main or station fan installations use matching diffusers at the outlet flange. The fan and its installation arrangement therefore need to be considered together.
Selection requires airflow and system resistance at the operating point. Motor power by itself cannot establish the air volume delivered through your installation. The source notes that blade-angle changes affect input-power requirements; selection must account for the installed motor rather than treating angle adjustment as unrestricted.
Keep medium and environment limits with each series
FBD and FBCD references state gas temperatures from −20°C to +40°C. Other humidity, altitude and voltage entries on this page are explicitly assigned to their own series. Do not use one fan's temperature or electrical reference as a specification for the entire range.
Provide the gas or air conditions, required airflow, pressure, duct arrangement and installation location. Where explosion protection or another approval is required, request the current documentation for the exact fan and motor configuration. Brochure terminology alone does not establish that a proposed installation is approved.
Selection questions
What should I include in a product inquiry?
Provide airflow, pressure, conveyed medium, temperature and duct arrangement. Identify any special material, motor or certification requirement.
Which technical details need confirmation?
Values are series-specific. Confirm the exact series, duty and motor configuration before selection. Any explosion-protected application requires configuration and certificate confirmation; brochure descriptions are not a current certificate.
How do I request the selected configuration?
Send the model or series reference and your project requirements through the inquiry link. Include drawings or the existing equipment reference where available.
Can a fan be selected by motor power alone?
No. Supply the required airflow and pressure together with the installation and medium. Ask for the matching fan selection and performance information for that operating point.
